Meat and your Diet
Meats play an important role in our diet and their nutritional qualities should not be underestimated. Including lean meats in a healthy eating plan is a tasty and easy way to get a compact source of good nutrition. Lean meats, like pork, provide the body with important nutrients, including high-quality protein, iron, zinc, and B vitamins.
Canada's Food Guide recommends eating two to three servings of meat and alternatives every day.
